About this print
Leonetto Cappiello created this poster in 1922 for Parapluie-Revel, the Lyon umbrella maker. It is one of his most recognizable designs — three black umbrellas carried by a figure caught mid-stride, set against a flat yellow field. No product shot, no explanation, just movement and silhouette.
This is the approach that made Cappiello the defining figure of European advertising art. It is an unusually easy poster to place. The yellow carries warmth without going bright, and the composition reads cleanly from across a room, so it holds a wall on its own.
At home in an entry, kitchen, or living room, and a natural companion to the other Cappiello pieces in the European Food & Drink collection. Printed fresh to order in three sizes — 12×18, 16×24, and 24×36 inches — on premium 200gsm matte paper, substantial and heavier than a standard poster. Unframed or framed in black, white, or natural wood.
